PHP, Tomcat, Ant, Apache and other software for Plesk 8.0.1

Hi,

We would like to ask for some assistance and any help is highly appreciated.

We are running a LAMP server under Plesk 8.0.1 and PHP 5.2.5. In order to install some additional services we need to be able to install additional libaries/modules in PHP, such as ming library, xaira server, etc . Unfortunatelly, we haven't managed to install any so far simply because it is not possible to recompite PHP as the source code is not available. What we actually need is for PHP to be installed form tarballs and configure the respective libraties with "--with-php=<php_installation_folder>" option, but <php_installation_folder> is in fact missing.

The same story with Tomcat. We need to upgrade it to make use of a newer Java version but we don't have access to the sourcecode and respectively we can't rebuild it.

Our question is if somebody can give us a hint on how we can work around these issues. Are there any versions of Tomcat, PHP and Ant for Plesk that make it possible for them to be recompiled with additional modules? Are there any sites with relevant information?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Rakel.
