New Pleskian
Hi All

I have issues logging into my PLESK control panel and wanted to ask for some help, first I need to find out the following information so I can submit a new thread!

I have Shell access to my VPS server (CentOS - I think) at present and would like to know how to find out;

PRODUCT
VERSION
MICROUPDATE
OPERATING SYSTEM
ARCHITECTURE

As said I cant get into Plesk at present so cant use the control panel to view information.

Product: Plesk Panel for Linux
Plesk version: see http://kb.parallels.com/en/951
Microupdate version: see http://kb.parallels.com/en/9294 (RIGHT at the bottom of the page - there's one section for Windows at the very bottom, and Linux just above it)

For OS, use the command: cat /etc/redhat-release

For Architecture, use the command: uname -a

You'll see x86_64 or just x86 at the end. That's your architecture (64bit ot 32bit basically).
You'll also see the kernel version just after your hostname (e.g. 2.6.32-042stab068.8)

But it looks like you are running in a Virtuozzo container. Can't the company that provides your VPS help you?

Unfortunately the company that provides my VPS "Global Gold" has been sold to www.iomart.com and there Support is the worst I have come across in the last 10 years dealing with VPS hosting.

Thanks for the information above, much appreciated indeed!

The company who run the data centre we use is the best co-lo/server rental company in the UK IMHO.

They were also recently purchased by iomart but thankfull they were left to continue exactly as they were. Their support is first class. They really are amazing. They aren't inexpensive, but overall I simply can't fault them. Long may they continue to impress me!
