Plesk 12 and Wordpress 4.4 - Plesk no longer allows login to admin interface

JeffD_UK

New Pleskian
So yet again, there you are happily logging into Wordpress Sites on your server using the Plesk interface - great abd so easy to get into the admin area for any wordpress site.

That is until you download 4.4 Wordpress (Dec 15 release) - although Wordpress 4.4 is stable and I can login via worpress admin url. The ability to login via my Plesk interface to the Wordpress Admin area - no longer is possible.

Worse still is that since updating 2 sites to 4.4 I cannot even see them as wordpress installs - its like they are not even there (although they are).

This only applies to 2 sites I updated this weekend to 4.4 - all other sites running earlier wordpress install are ok and I can login via Plesk interface.

When I view a list of sites running Plesk I see a long list but the 2 domains in question are not in the list, however, at the end of the list are two httpdocs entries which appear not to be 'attached to plesk'. So it would seem that by updating to 4.4 wordpress OS has caused it to become detached!!

Thoughts anyone please in how to rectify this?

If it is what I think you're talking about, it's a known issue, you can find a patch over at https://kb.odin.com/en/127725 that will fix the issue (just have to click on Check for Updates after replacing the affected file).

Let me provide you with some more information. It installs whatever current version of WordPress which is currently 4.4. Problem is the WordPress Toolkit doesn't pick up 4.4 installations even if installed through the Applications Vault. The patch fixes that by allowing it to see 4.4 installations. Once you've applied the patch, click the button that says Check for Updates and you'll see it in your panel with no issues. A new micro-update should be out tomorrow that should fix that issue.

I glad to inform you that the issue is fixed in recently published Plesk updates: Plesk 12.5.30 MU#15 & Plesk 12.0.18 MU#72
Please check KB article for details: https://kb.odin.com/en/127725
  1. Install latest Plesk microupdate.
  2. To restore integration with affected instances do the following:
Go to Home > Wordpress and click "Check for updates".
