• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 7.6 + Merak 8.x

I already own and am familiar with Merak Mail Server, and because Plesk is said to work with it, I went ahead and installed it. Upon relaunching Plesk after the installation, the Component module recognized the new software, and gave me a "radio button" option for integrating it (or whatever one calls the action of the initial interface). When I pressed "OK," the software paused for a bit, then gave back the error below. What do I do now?

Thanks for any help!

No, I never got it to work. I read something later about 7.6 and Merak 8.x being incompatible. At the moment, I've disabled email handling using Plesk, and instead manage it directly. Eventually, I plan to switch to hMailServer...

The support people has told me that Merak 8.5.x isn't yet supported, but Plesk 8.1 for Windows will be released on a couple of weeks, and then we'll get support.

Anyway, we have 15 servers working right with Plesk 7.5 and Merak 8.5.0.8

Guys,

you can have the newest version of Merak running without any problems on Plesk 7.6.1 Windows, just install merak version 8.3.8 and copy the folder API and the file api.dll and place it on the desktop . Then go ahead and uninstall merak 8.3.8 and be sure the Merak directory was also removed. Now go ahead and install the latest version of merak from: http://www.icewarp.com and install it, replace the folder api and the file api.dll with the one from the desktop and that is it. It works for me without any problems.

Let me kno wif it works for you

Plesk 7.6 Windows and Merak MS 8.5

Dear PLESK admins,

We have succesfully running a server Merak 8.5.0.9 with PLESK 7.6.

Suburb integration, no troubles at all.

Main rule is: install Merak in the Mail Server folder in swsoft/plesk/mail servers/

Otherwise, plesk doesnt regognises the mailserver at all.

After that, realise:
Spam control isn't to be done by PLESK, but by the mailserver himself when you use the internal merak spam modus (if integral installed of course) The same for Anti Virus.

Is there anybody who knows how I can remove the spam en antivirus icon from PLESK users? Is it possible to remove the icons from the admin tool in plesk?

:( :)
