Plesk 8.0.1 to 8.1.1 Updater Problem

After receiving the update alert for PSA 8.1.1; we were interested to see what updates would be made....

Although surprized (we hoped it would work) we found Plesk 8.0.1 locked up simply by clicking on the "updater" link.

Plesk was fully unresponsive. Via shell, we stopped, started......restarted Plesk and it remained unresponsive and unable to re-login until we rebooted of our server. (a totally unnecessary step, in our opinion, but required to get PSA back)

WTFy?

Even though we watched via shell, there was no extra load or anything out of the ordinary to report after clicking on the "updater" link.

Is this another SW-Soft bug we have to beta before we can successfully upgrade our systems?

We have remained on 8.0.1 in the hopes those bugs were fixed, but now find even the updater does not work as reported for the 8.1.1 upgrade.

Whew. I do love Plesk, but the hardships of updating it are becoming overwhelming.

Is the big "A" ever going back to SW-Soft to fix this, or is he going to finally release the "Big A" that will replace it?

Hi,

I have the same problem.
I try to connect on this site : http://autoinstall.plesk.com for down manually update but it seems not respond so i thinks error is in the update server that can't respond actually.

Sorry for poor english...

First server updated fine.

Second server failed twice with the follwing error:

Operation now in progress Can't download http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_8....psa-api-8.1.1-fc3.build81070322.16.noarch.rpm
ERROR: Curl download failed: Connect failed; Operation now in progress Can't download http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_8....psa-api-8.1.1-fc3.build81070322.16.noarch.rpm
Check SElinux status after error:
Exit with ERROR status

Now the auto-updater page is stuck showing "Autoinstaller busy"

How do I stop the auto-updater process?

same here, centos 4, control panel gets stuck when trying to get into updater, pretty sad impression swsoft ...

How do I stop the auto-updater process?

I try to reboot my server but updater retry when server boot...

So i thinks that we have to wait that the update server can accept connection.

Si i thinks that we have to wait that the update server can accept connection.

That is interesting, I checked our server and found after a restart, the autoupdater restarts by itself.

We are on a 1and1 dedicated currently running 8.0.1., FC5, php5.x.x, etc...

Gotta love SW-Soft, don't ya! heheee...

Perhaps, someday; we will be a valuable client base for SW-Soft and not beta-teste(zers)!!

I have re-booted twice and still the updater page is stuck.

I guess it is trying to download the files which made it fail in the first place!!

Download file base/psa-api-8.1.1-fc3.build81070322.16.noarch.rpm: catch error with message: Curl download failed: Connect failed; Operation now in progress Can't download http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_8....psa-api-8.1.1-fc3.build81070322.16.noarch.rpm

PS: if you click the links above to try to download the files they don't work. Maybe that's why it locks up?

Our current RPM of curl is: curl-7.13.1-5.fc4

ALSO, a correction, we are using FC4....not FC5.

Anyway, there are no updates for curl for our current system.

Anyone able to stop autoupdater via shell yet?

Not sure what did it, but we systematically stopped and restarted each service and it just seemed to stopped. We checked via ps -ef but it ran until it just seemed to stop.

We have no idea what service made the autoupdater to stop. duh!

After it stopped did you try to re-run the update and if so what happened?

Reported my problem to Plesk and 1&1. Will post the outcome here.

same outcome, plesk is unresponsive. stopped/started and needed a restart to restore the system.

after restart ran stop/start of each service. (attempting to see which service actually stopped autoupdate) but could not see which did it. perhaps i didn't wait long enough between each stop/restart.

q? - did you notice your migration service starting?

Hi,
I have the same issue,

Check package set before installation

Download file base/courier-imap-3.0.8-rhel4.build81070322.16.i586.rpm: 17%..26%..33%..43%..59%..81%..96%..100% done.

After this I try update through SSH Consol, but here I have a new problem: List of available releases: No suitable releases for your system is found on the server.

Somebody have any idea Why occur this issue?

O.k.

BTW what is the command to re-start plesk CP?

/etc/rc.d/init.d/psa start

1, 2 or just 3

/etc/init.d/psa stop
/etc/init.d/psa start
/etc/init.d/psa restart

on a psa 8.0.1 fc4 box

Guessing -

Both my Plesk servers are hosed. I didn't even try to update, I just logged on and it was hammered trying to connect with SWSoft. I have rebooted and all and it is still wasted.

It appears they have sent a stealth torpedo at all the servers and don't even realize they leaned on the fire button.

That solution above is useless and irrelevant. I just hope what they have done can be easily fixed after they finally realize they did it.

Be sure to restart http

/etc/init.d/httpd stop
/etc/init.d/httpd start
/etc/init.d/httpd restart

after changing the php.ini.

although it will take some time (UNLESS SW-Soft fixed it) ha! the updater link now works for us.

NOT to be misunderstood as an update success.

We only wanted to see what the update included on our cp.

With the current problems we are not going to run the 8.1.1 update until others on a 1and1 server has done so successfully.
