Plesk 8.0

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

We have recently upgraded to Plesk 8.0 in a couple of linux servers. However, we have found that we have MySQL version 3.23 installed on the server instead of the version 4.1 as promised by Plesk. We are not sure if the MySQL version will be upgraded even after upgrading to Plesk 8.1. BTW, we are running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 in our servers. Is this the reason for the MySQL not being upgraded? Or we have to install MySQL 4.1 separately in the server?

Please let me know.

Plesk never promised to upgrade MySQL. It just supports using MySQL 4.1 (and now MySQL 5 in Plesk 8.1). RHEL 3 comes with MySQL 3.23, so that's what you get. The easiest way to get MySQL on RHEL 3 is probably to use Atomic Rocket Turtle's packages.
