Plesk 8.1.1: unable to change Plesk default cert

As I figured out this situation will be corrected in next Plesk update 8.2.

As for now you can install certificate for Plesk CP manually by inserting it into PRODUCT_ROOT/admin/conf/httpsd.pem file and restarting Plesk service.

I did that but apparently it didn't change the cert the cp is loading... odd...

Anyway, will Plesk 8.2 require a new license? Or will it be a free upgrade, like 8.1 was for 8.0 users?

If you did everything correctly try also clear cache in your browser. Probably that the issue

As I know it will be free upgrade like 8.1 was for 8.0 users.

Guys, I have Plesk 8.1.1 on FC4 and certificate adding procedure works correctly. I don't have any problems with that. Well, try to check following things:

* Plesk 8.1.1 installed correctly and there is no packages from previous versions

* PRODUCT_ROOT_D is defined correctly in /etc/psa/psa.conf

* directory /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/ exists and have correct ownership and permissions:

# ls -ld /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/
dr-x------ 2 root root 4096 Мар 28 00:02 /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/

only the default cert for Plesk Login Page

I am getting the same error too, on a Fresh install FC6 and fresh install of Plesk 8.1.
Any chance Plesk is going to address this issue?

Did you try solution which I posted above:

"As for now you can install certificate for Plesk CP manually by inserting it into PRODUCT_ROOT/admin/conf/httpsd.pem file and restarting Plesk service."

Please try it and let me know if it will work for you or not.

This worked for me (CentOS 4.4). Thanks :D

I don't get it...

Just got informed, that there is an update to Plesk 8.1.1.
I installed it immediately, restarted the server and.... error persists. Nicely done....

Hi,

I installed the cert manually and it is in use for the default domain. How do I assign this cert to a certain vhost manually?

Dmitry

I manually copied the private key and the certificate into PRODUCT_ROOT/admin/conf/httpsd.pem which i believe is /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.pem for FC6 I have restarted psa service even restarted the server but still didnt work for me.

Am i missing something

never Dmitry it worked. my bad.
i was logging on to the server with the local address as oppose to using the FQDN

okay, been there, done all that. I tried replacing the httpsd.pem with the CA certificate, the private key, and the certificate. All of them report the same thing in my browser "unknown certifying authority"

BINGO>
httpsd.conf file
SSLEngine on
#SSLCACertificateFile "/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/rootchain.pem"
SSLCertificateFile "/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.pem"

uncommented the SSLCACertificateFile line.

I have the same problem with Plesk 8.1.1 and Suse 9.

Some more things... even replacing httpsd.pem with proper right settings did not solve the problem when logging into the CP (after restarting psa of course).

Moreover, when trying to install the current cert into the CP, I notice, that the rights of the single cert file under /usr/local/psa/var/certificates is changed to psaadm:psaadm. Likewise, the httpsd.pem file is changed to root:root.

What worked for me

My new cert file was /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/cert-To5qSR

What worked for me was changing the two entries in the following file to point to that certificate.

/etc/httpd/conf.d/zz010_psa_httpd.conf

The problem was obviously a bug of PLESK, with the newest update it is gone.

I would REALLY appreciate, if SWSOFT just would confirm such a bug here. This would save a lot of guessing and searching. But it seems that support and reaction to user requests (hint, they paid for it) is not worthwile for SWSOFT. A pity.

Agreed (most definately!),

same here. Just updated and it works.
Now I cant handle IP Pools in Customer Accounts, though.... it just suxx...
