  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Backup DNS

Simon Green

New Pleskian
Hi,

Hope everyone is well?

Hope somebody could help me .. I have done some searching but don't seem to be getting many hits back.

We currently have a Plesk Server hosting all our domain. This has around 20 Sites on and multiple IP's. We have 2x Name Servers setup to this Plesk Installation ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com. We would like to now add a backup DNS Server in another DC. So ns3.domain.com.

When I was in the land of cPanel, to do this we just installed the DNS Server only Option. I have seen Plesk does not offer this.

We are currently using Windows DNS for the hosting which is running on Windows 2008 R2.

Could anybody point me in the right direction or even to a guide to do this?

Cheers
Si
