• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

hey all,

I was wondering of the plesk smtp service allows our clients to use our server as a smtp server for their outgoing mail?

I've set up a new plesk 8 box (centos build) but, i cant use my server as an smtp server for my outgoing mail.

I've used my mailbox login also for smtp login.

Is there anything i've forgotten? Or is this an bug?

Many thanks
Dennis

You should be able to use the SMTP service as an outgoing mail server.

It may help troubleshooting if you could provide any specific errors that you are receiving and the like. One common cause of this sort of problem is ISPs that block port 25. If this is the case, your clients would not be able to connect to your server. You can get around this by reconfiguring xinetd to use alternate ports for SMTP.
