Question Plesk Onyx on shared hosting

layerwire

Basic Pleskian
Greetings,

we are using Plesk Onyx for sharing hosting and it's pretty good, but anyway we have one question.
Many clients asked us what they can do with git, node.js, ruby and python.
What are limits then it's not VPS and you can't log in under root. Is there any point to having this features for shared hosting users?

Thanks.

Many clients asked us what they can do with git, node.js, ruby and python.

To be very short: nothing.

99.9% of the shared hosting clients want a fast website and working email, no viruses and NO SPAM !!!

We are over 18 years in shared hosting now and 0 (zero) people ever asked about python, 0 (zero) asked about ruby, and 1 (one) ever asked about git.
node.js is simply dangerous on shared hosting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Node.js
Node.js allows the creation of Web servers and networking tools using JavaScript
That is the last thing you ant on a shared server.

We don't offer these in our hosting accounts.
People that need them, know what they are used for, they don't asked for it in a shared account, they take a vps.

regards
Jan
