PleskControlPanel broke after upgrading from 10.0.1 to 10.1.1

The install doesn't complete, most sites work but the main control panel page was prompting for a user name and password in a pop up authentication window. To attempt to resolve the issues I've reset the password on the psaadm account and updated it in the application pool and site for PleskControlPanel - now I don't get the authentication box, I get a internal server 500 error.

My autoinstaller3.log file fails at this point:

The OS is Windows 2008 SP2 x86. It's on a physical server.

Server is running MailEnable 5.07 Enterprise if that makes a difference.

Need to get this resolved asap.

Same thing here. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

The install did not complete successfully. I 'had' a fully working Plesk CP.

If I try to access Plesk Admin (https://localhost:8443) I get error:

The file index.php is part of Plesk distribution. It cannot be run outside of Plesk environment.

If I try to access remotely I get a windows username/password request window. If I enter in admin username/password, it gives me the same error as above.

Does anyone know of a fix? I was thinking about installing the package overtop of what I already have,
in hopes that it'll fix this issue but I'm worried it may corrupt and wipe out the sites or even corrupt them.

All sites are functioning yet...

Please, if anyone has any suggestions, work-arounds, etc, please post them.

Same Issue

Windows upgrade to 10.1.1, was apparently a mistake. I had to reboot the web server because the CPU usage was at a %100. So it failed to update now I have no management access. The internal error is below. I've looked at other forums and cannot find an answer. Please Igor help, customers are getting angry

Seems like lots of folks experiencing same issue. No response from Parallels.....
 
forget to mentioned it, plesk 10.0.1 prompted a new update 10.1.1 available. I am regretting to opt for upgrade.
 
I suppose that the problem occurred because upgrading of Parallels Plesk Panel to version 10.1.1 was started after upgrading to version 9.5 failed so required .msi files are missing.
What about

\Plesk\admin\bin>dbclient --direct-sql --sql="select * from upgrade_history"

?
So, this problem require detailed investigation directly on your server. Therefore I suggest you contact support team for fixing it.

Has anyone had any luck at all with Parallels Tech Support to find a resolution to this problem?

In everyone's opinion, what do you think is the issue and does anyone believe Parallels is working on a fix?

In regards to the //pipe issue, it seems as if Plesk CP has lost it's authentication or ability to communicate to MySQL or MSSQL.
In checking KB on several issues with MySQL, please take a look at the following. It may be that PleskCP now has broken authentication into //pipe into MySQL for admin/user port @ :8443

Any thoughts on this from anyone?

When try to run plesk reconfigurator, it was showing following error in event viewer

It looks like upgrade was not completed successfully. Try to find reason in autoinstaller3.log, fix it and complete upgrade. Contact support team if you can't do it by yourself.
 
Dear Igor,
If autoinstaller3.log shows reason and we fix issue, as I have, when I try to rerun the installer 'manuall' (since Plesk CP admin is broke and cannot enter that way to initiate the upgrade), the packages say that they have to be run under Plesk. So, I'm at a stand-still. The upgrade packages say that they need to be installed with Plesk but Plesk cannot run. What is the work-around to this?

Was this issue addressed yet in the Parallels Plesk CP KB? We need to know how to fix this issue.

Igor, is the complete install package for 10.1.1 available for download? And if we run this installation package, I'm assuing that as all other packages, it will example system for pre-existing system and config and utilize for installation.
Is this a simple possible work-around to complete the 10.1.1 install and will it fix the issues we all have?

Hi,

Plesk Support have been working on my install for several days now and have managed the upgrade.

Unfortunately I cannot post what they have done, because frankly I have no idea. I know that they have attempted several upgrades changing several settings in the registry but I think alot of things got broken and required repairing one step at a time as the fixes progressed.

I know we pay enough for the software and it was their upgrade that broke Plesk, however USD70 is a small price to pay to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. I sincerely hope that this issue will not happen again on the next upgrade.

It would be nice that the installer performs some sort of a check before the upgrade to make sure everything is OK prior to allowing the upgrade to avoid such disastrous issues that can easily result in loss of business and customers.
