  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Problem installing plesk 8.4 on windows svr 2003

Hi there,

I just formatted and installed windows server 2003 on our server. Everytime I launch the 8.4 installer, it decompiles everything in c:\Program Files\Parallels\Install\080505.00\ and then starts. When it tries to open the Plesk Migration Manager, the installation crashes and complains about a dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

I then get this error: Fatal error during installation. (Error code 1603) at Unable to execute c:\Program Files\Parallels\Install\080505.00\Plesk.msi

So I did try to run that file by myself to see.. and that's where I get the DLL initialization routine failed call.

Any idea?!
 
Maybe a corrupt installer. Happened to us a lot of times. Try downloading a new one. Post if you still encounter problems.
 
Please check event viewer for more detailed error message. For example, I got the same error when Dr.Web can not be started during upgrade.
