Qmail not working, and cant get into Plesk

Hello all...I have just brought a new dedicated server which had plesk included, got it all set up, but then i couldnt do anything, like add accounts etc. because of "qmail not working/installed" - but it was showing up in my server files under the directory /var/qmail - so what i decided to do was try a plesk update (obviously not a bad thing i would think) - but when i guess it completed, I couldnt get back into Plesk again, httpd server is working fine, just not the plesk panel.

I'm a little new to dedi's, but i'm a fast learner. lol

Anyone got any ideas of what has happened? And a solution if possible to help me out?
