• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Issue Remote connection to Mysql fails

New Pleskian
Hi,
I am new with Plesk. I already checked most of the documentations, but i am having an issue setting up a Mysql DB allowing remote access.
Here are the things i already checked :
1/ Tools & Settings > Database Servers > ALLOW REMOTE CONNECTIONS FROM ANY HOST
2/ Databases > Database Users > ALLOW REMOTE CONNECTIONS FROM ANY HOST
3/ Tools & Settings > Firewall > I added the following rule : Allow incoming from all on port 3306/tcp

To test connection, i tried using SEQUEL PRO. I get this error : Can't connect to MySQL server on 'XX.XX.XX.XX' (61)
I also tried to run a website hosted on another server but using a Plesk DB, but it also fails.

Does any of you know what should i do ? (remember i am new at this, be gentle :D )

Thanks,

Xavier

Hey !
After more researches, i finally got it to work !
For those interested, here is how :
I edited mysql/my.cnf and changed the bind address to 0.0.0.0 (+ restart sql server)
