Issue Remote SmarterMail Server (not configured)

I've tried to setup my SmarterMail server "which are on a different server then plesk" and even if i enter the correct credentials and port/ip nothing happens. no error after pressing "OK" and when scrolling down back to "mail server" it once again says "Remote SmarterMail Server (not configured)"

Please help me out, i've looked everywhere for answers and haven't found something that works..
I do have both hosting pack and power pack installed.
