• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Replace Mailserver Software in Plesk 8.3 for Windows 2003

New Pleskian
Hi,

We have a windows server 2003 standard edition running plesk 8.3.0. Currently hundreds of domains are created in plesk which are using web, mail & db services. The current mailserver software being used by all the domains is mailenable standard edition.

We also have merak mail server 9.1.1 installed on the same server but running on different ports. We wish to disconitnue with mailenable & we want merak mail server as the default mail server. However when we try to change the mail server in Plesk>Server>Components Management>Mailserver>merak9.1.1, it gives an error that all settings, mails & components will be lost if we change from mailenable to merak.

Is there any way by which if we select merak mail server as default mail server & the domains in plesk would be created in merak using some script or some method. Even if the mails of the mailboxes doesnt gets copied to the mailboxes of merak shpuld be fine but atleast domains & mailboxes ha to be created in merak with the current passwords.

Your suggesstions & feedback are welcome. Thanks in Advance.

Hi,

Plesk should create all existing domain and mail accounts in the new mail server automatically.

Also backup utility in Plesk 8.3 has the ability to store mail content in the mail server independent format, i.e it is possible to migrate content between different mail servers.
