Resolved Restore backup from plesk 12.5 on Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 Update #12

Verry strange. I just uploaded a backup that is from onyx 17.0.17 and that upload went well. The backup I try to upload is from Plesk 12.5 as I said when I started this topic. The file is 2.4 GB. Maybe the problem is that the back up is from Plesk 12.5? It is the same server.

Tomorrow I will try your options and I will let you know teh result. Thanks a lot for all your help today.

Herman.

Hello Peter,

the 2 options you gave me will not work for me. That is because I can not restore the entire backup but I only need to restore 1 website. I dont see a way to do so in the 2 options. Second is that I more and more am thinking that I can't restore the backup because it is from an older Plesk 12.5. But Thank you verry much for all the time you helped me.

Best regards, Herman.

Backups from 12.5 can be restored to Onyx without any problem.

At least option (a) will surefire work. Because Plesk will read the backup content information from the .tar archive from that FTP location and let you select all objects individually. It is exactly the same as if you had uploaded your backup to an external storage space in the first place instead of downloading it from the website.

Hello Peter,

yes indeed! I took some time en yes, option (a) worked perfectly. Again thank you verry much for your time and your help.

Best Regards, Herman.

I tryed to restore a backup from Plesk 12.5 to Plesk Onyx 17.5
i got this message from backup manager

This operation is taking too long. Check the results in a few minutes.

after this even plesk not accesible
i get now this message when try to open login page of plesk
ERROR: Plesk\Exception\Database: DB query failed: SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1030 Got error 28 from storage engine, query was: DESCRIBE `sessions`

Additionally, an exception has occurred while trying to report this error: Zend_Exception

Very likely the storage space on the disk or the storage space of the temporary partition is exhausted. MySQL cannot write any more data to disk and halts.

Solution:
1) Free disk space, make sure that your temporary storage has enough disk space for the restore plus the size of the unpacked files from that
2) Stop all running backup processes (kill the tasks from the process list)
3) restart Plesk services
4) redo the restore
