• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Hi
I am trying to restore a backup file to in 8.0.1 that I saved in 7.5.4 , but everytime I upload plesk say this is not a backup file..

Does anyone know a way round this?

hi roosta,

if you have any luck with this, would you mind sharing??
i am also at the same joint.
i have even tried commanline ./pleskrestore to restore a backup of plesk8.0, ...error....

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, wish I thought of that.

What I ended up doing was ftp all the vhost to my local coumpter, ftp the mysql folder. Then made sql backup of the sites.

It was a hassle, hoping in the future the backup function will save me sometime.

I have heard comment the backup is unreliable does anyone have experience of this?

I haven't had problems with the backup utilities being unreliable. I have read of bugs but haven't experienced any, thankfully.

I think the problem most people have is that they don't downgrade to the next version. 8.0 is supposed to be able to import 7.5.3 backups but I think it's with a new script I'm not familiar with (I don't really keep up).. It's easy enough to downgrade and then upgrade anyways, so I do it that way to avoid problems with the newer/unfamiliar scripts. :)
