  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Restoring backup from Plesk 9.5.4 to a new Plesk 10 installation

Hello, everyone!

I've got to update a Plesk installation from 9.5.4 to 10.x. So, since previous SysAdmin didn't leave a develepment machine, I installed a virtual machine using VirtualBox running Centos 5.2 and Plesk 10 to try it under a development environment before updating on production server.

I want to upgrade Plesk 9.5.4 to Plesk 10.x on production server but I'd love having a B-Plan if it fails when I use the CLI updating tool.

Plesk 10 installation seems to be done perfectly without minor issues.

Now that computers circumstances are clear my questions are:

1º If I use "pleskrestore" tool to restore a previously well made backup from 9.5.4 to 10.X, Will it do the job?
2º Will 9.5.4 license work under 10 versions?
3º If I use the parameter "--license" while restoring, will it cause an error on "Production Server"?
4º Can they (licenses) co-exists temporarily while I test that my services work properly under Plesk 10?

Note: If this works properly I will try using a newer CentOS version, of course. ;)

Thank you very much and my apologies if I've done too many language mistakes.
