• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Reverse DNS (more) active in 8.1 ?

Hello people,

After the upgrade from Plesk 7.6 to 8.1, I noticed several sites started to reject some mail they received. After I looked a little bit more in detail, it seems to me that reverse DNS is now active on the mail sites.

Is this a new functionality in 8.1 or has it simply been switched on by default in the new version ? Can it be turned off as well ?

I looked into the new documentation, but found nothing specific on this...

I have never looked at this in detail so anybody care to comment a little bit on this ?

Regards,

Mav.

plesk activates reverse dns zones in 8.1. and in all previous versions.
unfortunately there is not the possibility to turn off reverse zone for domain.

While I do not have a suggested fix for disabling RDNS on existing sites for Windows (I do have a fix for Linux but am yet to test it on Windows), ensure that you remove the /24 PTR record from your DNS templates.

This will prevent new domains from being configured with RDNS.
