Running website from two IP Addresses

Hello folks,

I currently have a website running on an exclusive IP address. I need to shift it to be hosted on a different IP address and want to do this without any downtime.

If I just change the IP address in Plesk and then update the DNS then people will see the default Plesk page whilst their DNS cache's point the site to the existing IP address which will no longer be associated with the site in Plesk.

Can anyone think of a way to make Plesk temporarily run the site from two IP addresses? I have already unsuccessfully tried to bodge the vhost.conf by adding another virtualhost. Any ideas?

Hello,

How about duplicating the site under a phoney name and setting that site as default on that ip address. This way instead of the default plesk page the default domain would come up.

This is just a tought , never tried.
