  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

send mail local vs remote

I'm stuck and hoping a friend can help me out.

Two of the domains on my Plesk server have the website hosted locally with me, but their e-mail is hosted on another server. I thought I had all DNS setup correctly to process e-mail. Which, seems to work fine if you e-mail from any third party e-mail provider to the client. The e-mail finds the correct mail server.

But, if I use a simple form mailer on the server, or if I login to the webmail and send either of these two domains an e-mail it fails to look off of my server. The qmail log shows an entry like, Oct 18 13:37:54 server1 qmail: 1318959474.649401 starting delivery 70237: msg 8306691 to local [email protected]

I need the server to look remotely to find these e-mail addresses. Any idea where I can change that setting for a specific domain?

Thanks,
LVSoftware

Fix

DNS mail.thedomain.com - other IP
Remove all domain instances in var/qmail/control and the mailname folders.
