• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue Server failure - Plesk backup restore process?

Hello
We've had a disaster with our windows server, we think a windows update corrupted the system. The data centre has spent the past few days trying to revive the OS, but we've had to start from scratch.
Our old server setup was:
x2 SSD drives in raid 0
Plesk backed up to another internal drive
Plesk domain root directory was on an NVMe drive

So the data centre has set up a new server with the backup drive and NVMe installed. I have all the files, but of course the MSSQL databases are in the Plesk backup drive.

What's the best way of restoring the Plesk structure and MSSQL databases ?

I can't see the backups at the moment in the new Plesk install, do I need to upload the latest backup_info xml file, I'm hoping this will restore the Plesk structure and allow me to access the backups and restore that way?

If you still have the full Plesk backup path, you could simply move the content into the current installation's backup path and backups should become visible in the Backup Manager again.
