  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Setting up a service and monitoring it is always running

New Pleskian
Hi, I have Plesk Panel 11, and had 2 related questions:

1. I have a script that I need to run in the background, and that it should always be running with the command below:

nohup sh /var/www/path-to-script/script.sh > /tmp/script.log & 1>&2

the script basically goes into a while loop where it is running some tasks, sleeps for a second, and then does it again.

Is there a way to setup this up as a service in plesk? And is there a way to monitor that it always runs?

2. Does plesk have the ability to monitor logs for specific keywords? In the log to the script above, I would want to get alerted whenever the word 'error' appears, for example.

Thank you!
Diego
