  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Severe BUG in Plesk 9.0.1 Windows Alert

Dear Users

As you all know that in Plesk 8.6 there were basically following levels
Administrator > Clients > Domain Users
If we assign 100 MB space to Client with permission to distribute the space within 2 domains , if he allocated 50 MB to 1 domain he could allocate 50 MB to another whcih is as per industry standard billing practice .

In plesk 9.0.1 a new feature of overselling is intraduced which works as follows
Administrator > Reseller > Clients > Domain user

In plesk 9.0.1 Reseller group came into picture which could also create clients under him as per permissions given to him
If we assign 100 MB to reseller and enable overselling he could allocate more than 100 MB IE 1000 MB to client and reseller will be billed on actual resource consumption . The reseller could also create direct domains under him and the client created by reseller could also create direct domains under him .

NOW FOLLOING IS THE GREATEST BUG !!!! BE ALERT

In case if we disable overselling following happens.

If we assign 100 MB to reseller with 2 or more domains and DISABLE overselling .

CASE1 : He created a client under him with > 100 MB with > 2 domains it gives error that resource required is more than alloted . SEEMS OK
CASE2 : He creates a domain under him > 100 MB IE 10000000 MB it allows overselling even when overselling is switched OFF .

CASE3 : If he creates a client < 100 MB within his resources under him . IT gets created but in turn that client is allowed to oversell even if overselling is barred .

NOW WE ALL ARE AT STAKE BECAUSE EVEN IF WE DO NOT WANT THE OVERSELLING FEATURE WE ARE BEING FORCED TO OVERSELL DUE TO PLESK BUG .

WE URGE THE PLESK TEAM TO RESPOND TO THIS ISSUE ON HIGHEST PRIORITY BEFORE WHOLE ARCHITECTURE GOES DOWN.
