• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

SMTP Authentication problem

Hi,

I configured "SMTP authorization is required" under Plesk >Server >Mail. But, in outlook, I can send emails without checking "My outgoing mail server requires authentication". As far as I know, if I turn on "SMTP authentication" in plesk, I need to set up "my mail server requires authentication" in outlook. Otherwise, I should not be able to send emails. Can anyone explain me what do I miss here?

Also, from outlook, I can send emails from non-existence email address to local addresses.
for example,
sender : [email protected] (non-existence email)
receiver : [email protected]

So, it means anybody who knows my SMTP server can send spam emails to all the email addresses in my server.

Can anybody help me out to solve this problem? Thanks.
