SpamAssassin - is it installed or not?

Hi,

I've been asking around and I seem to get two different answers when I pose the question. (I'm using Plesk via the offering from my hosting ISP.) One answer I get is yes, SpamAssassin is installed, but you need to pay extra for the PowerPack for the GUI configuration, otherwise configuration has to be done via CLI. The other answer I get is that SpamAssassin is not installed and neither is the GUI. I'm not sure who to believe because my installation of Plesk 8.4 does not have the psa-spamassassin rpm installed.

Does it seems kind of ridiculous that the modules for running gaming servers come standard, but in order to use SpamAssassin, an extra license fee is required? Sometimes I think the bean counters need to be shot.

Plesk does not actually have anything to do with spamassassin, what it does is control the spamassassin daemon shipped by the vendor.

Thanks for the reply. Finally figured out what the problem was with my ISP. My servers crashed and when they rebuilt my VPS, they didn't reinstall things completely (I had just started hosting with them when this happened). I never had a clean, working installation of my VPS to begin with, so I had nothing to compare it against. Also, I never received a clear explanation from the support people at my ISP about how they had the VPS configured and how the psa- files worked.
