• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Suggestions needed for protected urls

Hello,

We are using Plesk v 8.6 protected url's via the plesk control panel. So therefore when someone clicks on our site, they are asked for a username and password.

The problem is if the user walks away from the machine, then there is always a chance someone else accesses the material. So I was wondering if there is some timer to auto reset if a user was non-active or some way to implement a logout facility.

Does anyone here have any ideas to allow a user to log out of a link?

1. Before reboot of a browser this authorisation will operate. It is constructed on base IIS auth modules.
2. As all browsers allow to remember logins and passwords this timeout is not useful. Anyone can login again with stored password.
3. And there is one simple rule - lock your workstation when you leave it :)
