Sw Soft Announced Plesk 9

The new version will have 2 bugs corrected. They also announced ClamAv and Postfix will not be supported.

They will also erase Spamassin integration as well other open source modules in which they cannot make money. Example Dr.Web antivirus.

Sw Soft doesnt make money anymore on Open Source integration, they are moving slowly to Windows OS and Virtuozzo. Haven't you noticed that already?

Free Control Panel have more modules and functions then Plesk now. Also they want you be a Virtuozzo client they dont care about plesk anymore. With Virtuzzo they wil make money of every single client you have since they sell it on a per basis account not like plesk per server.

They even have put intrussive Ads in the Plesk panels to let your clients now, that Plesk is old and sucks, Virtuozzo is the new stuff.

You can turn off the little ads promoting Plesk products in your control panel. They still seem to be displayed every now and then even though they are not suppose to.

Plesk 8.2 is pretty sweet, some nice features for easier admining rights, that also depends on the extra modules your server has installed.

You can control just about everything that your clients can do and see... its all in the admin panel. Some features are hard to find, but they are there.

I've had my fair share of bad times with Plesk and they should be smacked heavily. I think there is more of a swing towards other servers now-a-days knowing Plesk is going beyond commercialism and marketing.

Agreed, people are getting sick to death of all the Plesk marketing bullcrap, they should concentrate more on the server and services itself.

Yes i have the ads turned off. I have to edit some files, thanks to some guys here in the forum it was done. On the first 8 version there was no option to turn it off, then plesk decided they would have that option since people really where pissed off about that.
Sw Soft is not listening to customers thats my point. They are just investing their money on marketing, hostcon2007 and and Virtuozzo.

The ads in a 1500$ control panel is really disgusting. Thats a slap into the face of the customers. Whey they dont just put Adsense on it as well. Some people even said they had links to buy images and domains inside the panel. Sure that can be turned off, but why in the first place are they there, in a control panel. And they where activated by defaut.

Also why Plesk forces you to use for example Dr.Web or the other Paid antivirus. 99% of control panels let you choose ClamAV or other free choice.
People really put some very good suggestions to the panel, Sw Soft just dedices not to listen, they just want to sell, sell, sell and nothing more. Once you have plesk you are stuck with it.

Anyone notice the favicon.ico now in the httpdocs directory? Every domain now has the SWSoft symbol in the addressbar/bookmarks. When did this "feature" come out?

Did you use the Migration Manager? I noticed that the Migration Manager seems to apply the skeleton before migrating the content from the old server, so a domain that didn't have a favicon before will have the Plesk favicon after the migration.

Yes I used the migration manager. I guess the thing to do would be remove the favicon.ico from the skeleton BEFORE the migration takes place.
