Templates w/Uploadable Banners

eastcoast

Basic Pleskian
Can we get a listing of which templates allow for uploading of banner ? Also, DETAILED documentation for customizing templates in Sitebuilder 4.0 would be helpful. Most of my clients have customized websites (the generic photos in the templates are useless for me and my customers) and I will need to rebuild these customized websites before I can upgrade to 4.0.

Also, after a Sitebuilder 4.0 template is customized how do you upload them ?

Guys,

I would definitely benefit from this request also. It seems a rather small percentage of templates actually allow banner uploads, a list of these templates would much appreciated.

Thanks.

There is following requirement for template to be able to upload banner for it: such template in folders header1,2,3 must contain not more than 1 picture. So I wrote a little script which counts such templates and list it. Here are results for list of templates for clean v.4 installation:

It appeared that there are 256 templates which allows banner uploading procedure. Please check it up.

Dmitry,

Would you be able to post your script so we are able to do the same check on our templates that are installed?

Okay I am using xww25 and when i try to upload my own banner it says it is an invalid file type. I have already adjusted the size of the picture to 1024 x 350 px - but it still won't work. I am not a techie person, just trying to rebuild my business website - so please keep it simple for me, thanks

Yeap, I can confirm that eug-17 does not support banner uploading. So it should be excluded from the list above. It seems I missed .png files in script which generates this list. As I can see head banner for this template include 3 files:

$ ls /usr/local/sitebuilder/htdocs/templates/eug-17/blue/headers/headers1
top1.jpg top2.png top3.png

and it can not be rewritten by one uploadede file. So head banner upload feature does not supported for this template.

Hello Dmitry Frantsev,

May you confirm the current list is up-to-dated?

Thank you for your kind attention.

Upload banner support templates list

I checked it on latest 4.2 version with all templates installed from ftp://download1.swsoft.com/Sitebuilder/templates/4.2.0/rpms. Here are results and list of templates which support head banner uploading feature in the attachment:

All 502 templates were checked:
# ls /usr/local/sitebuilder/htdocs/templates/|wc -l
502

271 of them support this feature:
# cat templates_list.txt |wc -l
271

File in the attachment.

I am new here and have used the search function for an answer.

I have tried to upload a banner to two of the templates that allow it. They both have browse and upload "enabled" and it says "loading". But my banner does not show-up.

What file types are allowed. My banner was done in PhotoShop - so it is a .psd file.

Thanks for the help

Here is info from documentation:
http://download1.parallels.com/SiteBuilder/4.2.0/doc/user/en_US/html/index.htm
.......
For most design templates, you can also upload your own banner to provide your site with individual look-and-feel. The supported file formats are *.jpg, *.bmp, *.gif, *.png.
Unfortunately, .psd format is not supported. If you really need it I can created a feature request for Plesk Sitebuilder developers to add ability for uploading this format for future versions.

Thanks Dimitry.
I changed it to jpg and got it to upload. But, is there a way to delete the portion of your banner that is now designed for a logo. I have the Logo and Title imbedded and my banner would take the whole width of the page.

Could you please slarify your question a little bit? When you uploaded custom banner there is no way to remove it from Sitebuilder interface directly. All custom banners for the site are stored in <SB_ROOT>/htdocs/sites/xx/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/customImages/header/ directory. If you need to remove uploaded banner you need to figure out the directory for particular site, find appropriate image and remove it from there. Site directory can be figured out from Sitebuilder database by site alias name:

mysql> select dir_name where alias='SITE_ALIAS';

Let me know if there is something else you need to know.

Custom Templates

I noticed that is was mentioned earlier but didn't find a response.

How do I create custom templates and add them to the sitebuilder?

I couldn't see any templates in the personal list above. In the design stage starts with 074.
