Hello admins,
Some problems encounter when you install PLESK 7.6 on W2K3 Server and IIS6 in combination with Troxo's htaccess protection.
When using Troxo's filter, it is possible to integrate or use the well known .htaccess and .htpassword files within a webdirectory to protect it from anonymous visitors.
But, PLESK 7.6 had the function urlprotect.dll ISAPI in use for the protection of webfolders. You can setup this function within PLESK admin / control panel (Web folders -> protection)
When you use the Troxo and PLESK protection filter (ISAPI) on the same server, both the filters work bad. Service unavailable's, hangs, long response times etc when using PLESK 7.6's webprotection and while Troxo's filter is installed.
My advice: on Windows IIS, Troxo's solution is great, but only when you aren't using PLESK.
PLESK is the best option for protection.
