• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Unable to setup Apple Mail email account

Streeme

New Pleskian
I registered a domain name and setup a Linux server on GoDaddy, choosing Plesk panel with Power Pack. Inside the panel I created an email address, which I can access from the webmail interface without problems. I decided to setup my clients as well, using the IMAP configuration, as I'm using multiple devices. I followed the instructions for Outlook express and I was able to setup the account on my virtual machine, with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.
Though, speaking of the host machine, a MacBook Pro, I normally use Apple Mail that comes with MacOS. Instructions for setting up Mail are updated back to Snow Leopard at least and they do not work properly. I tried various configurations, but I was only able to receive mail on the account, while sending won't work at all.

Is there anyone who knows the working configuration?
I'd like Parallels to update the guide or, at least, to open a KB page with the solution(s) to this issue: I googled it and found out that it is a common issue.

What is MTA do you have on your Plesk server? Have you tried to find any related error messages in Plesk maillog file /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog ? Any results of troubleshooting?

Hi, IgorG and thanks for replying. Unfortunately I didn't get this reply notification, thus I'm writing back only now.
I'm not that skilled in informatics related stuff, for this reason I have to ask you where the informations you need to help me out may be found. I don't know what MTA on my server (even not sure what it is!) nor where the maillog file is located: didn't find the "usr" folder you're suggesting.

As for troubleshooting, inside Apple Mail I don't exactly remember the displayed errors, but Connection Doctor did not show the same message shown on other account lines (accounts that of course work fine on the client).

Thank you for your patience.
