I'm here with a serious problem, I tried this weekend 2 update plesk to 8.1.0. I do this with the autoinstaller commandline. When I try 2 update I get this error:
ERROR: Impossible do installation while package psa-api-common-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20.noarch is installed in system.

Well that looks simple to solve:
rpm -e psa-api-common
and then I get this error:
error: Failed dependencies:
psa-api-common >= 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-7.5.4-fc1.build75050824.12
psa-api-common = 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-api-cli-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20
psa-api-common = 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-api-rpc-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20

Does this mean I have 2 remove 7.5.4 first or something? Need some advise to solve this. THX

Hello,

Please try to upgrade manually.
You can satisfy the dependencies easier. If it asks for the api, beside the base dir , just install that, and so on until all dependencies are met.

ok... and is there a good way 2 do that?
Because when I try 2 update with the psa-8.1.0-fc1.build81061129.23.i586.rpm package I get this error:
error: Failed dependencies:
psa-libpam-plesk is needed by psa-8.1.0-fc1.build81061129.23
psa-security = 7.5 is needed by (installed) psa-firewall-1.0.1-fc1.build75050824.12

psa = 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-bu-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20
psa-pre >= 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-locale-base-en-US-7.5.4-fc1.build75051115.01

psa-pre >= 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-spamassassin-7.5.4-fc1.build75060617.18
psa-pre >= 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-migration-manager-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20

For the error:
psa-libpam-plesk is needed by psa-8.1.0-fc1.build81061129.23
I tried 2 update the package:
psa-libpam-plesk-8.1.0-fc1.build81061129.23.i586.rpm
and then i get this error:
error: Failed dependencies:
psa >= 8.0.0 is needed by psa-libpam-plesk-8.1.0-fc1.build81061129.23

So first I need a Plesk 8 + version to install psa-libpam, but to install plesk 8 I need psa-libpam. :confused:

And this error:
psa = 7.5.4 is needed by (installed) psa-bu-7.5.4-fc1.build75060321.20 I don't understand either... 7.5.4 is needed? I have that now.

And what is psa-security & psa-pre?

So much questions... :) I hope somebody can help me here...

Edit: Ok, I found out that psa-security is a virtual package provided by package named 'psa'. I have:
config(psa) = 7.5.4
psa-security = 7.5
psa = 7.5.4-fc1.build75050824.12

Edit2: It works now, the "extra problem" I had is that because a update what went wrong Plesk installed 8.1 updates on a 7.5.4 machine. That's casue that he coudn't upgrade 2 8.1 right away... So now I removed alot of those updates and installed 8.0.1. After that I could update to 8.1 easy, only the problem I now have is that the Longhorn black theme is not working so good, missing images, weird layout etc.
