Update 7.5 to 8.0 failed

Hello,
am trying to update plesk from 7.5 to 8.0 but I keep getting:
Update of system was failed for some reason.
The server is running FedoraCore 3,
any one have any idea.

Try downloading the latest autoinstaller and using that to upgrade your system.

By the way, this is the Plesk 8.1 forum.

You need a new license key if you're upgrading from Plesk 7.5.x to Plesk 8.x.

Hello, the auto-instaler update the cantrol panel
afetr trying to complete the update from the panel
I go error cannot reach RPM.

Hello below is the error I got and the cantrol panel
blank.

I have had more success going from 7.5.4 to 8.0 to 8.0.1.

When I skipped a step on 3 servers they gave me loads of problems.

How I reset the domain name

Cause for error:

Unable to determine the domain name of your computer.
I run 'hostname -f'
I got 'Unknown host'


How I reset the domain name?

you can use the hostname command. For instance, if you wanted your hostname to be www.domain.tld, your command would be:

$ hostname www.domain.tld

Also, you may want to check your hosts file....

When I run the $ hostname ns3.domain.com
bash: $: command not found

Also in the hosts file
I got the domain.com without the ns3.

does not work.
