Upgrading PHP 4 to PHP 5

Plesk 8.2.1 has installed PHP 4.3.9 as a default which does not support new versions of PHP applications we are using.

I have tried to find a solution to this from the help section and the existing forums but to no avail.

Any information on this would be gratefully recieved.
