Upgrading to 8.4 from 8.2? On RHL 5

I have 8.2.0 and try using either the updater in CP GUI or in SSH root, and it starts to download 8.2.1 and says that it does not work for my OS. Do I have to go through this temporary step to 8.2.1 or is there some way I can download a 8.4 package and upgrade directly to that? It shows 8.4 works for my OS.
