• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Virtual Host Template Folder Permissions

I've just got a new Windows 2008 Virtual Server with Plesk Panel 9.3. I'm about to transfer 100+ websites and am testing configurations at the moment.

Most sites I run use an MS Access database in a \database folder stored in the domain's root directory (same as httpdocs).
I've managed to add another folder to the Virtual Host Template called database, but can't seem to manage it's permissions. The folder needs to have read/write permissions so that I can (1) FTP the actual database to the folder, and (2) update it etc.
I can set the permissions manually but only by logging in to the server via Remote Desktop and changing the permissions AFTER setting up the new domain.

Can the folder settings be set at template stage thus avoiding the need for the manual configuration? If so, how please?

Thanks

Chris

Host template folders not inheriting permissions (win 2008 Server)

I have the same issue - posting to see if you or someone else have resolved...I need to the default folders/files copied from the plesk template to inherit permissions from the parent folder.
