web admin failed to connect

I upgraded to php 5.2.6 and since then my web cp is complaining
Failed to Connect
The connection was refused when attempting to contact xxxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.com:8443.

Everything else seems to be working ok - emails are going through, websites are up etc.
