Problem: can not modify permission for folder or file
Error Message: You can not modify the permission of this folder

Error Causes:

1. Setup one domain account within plesk without granting the "additional write/modify" permission
2. Frontpage Extension Installed Option Selected
3. Create the Domain Account
4. Click on setup for that domain
5. unselect frontpage extension
6. select "additional write/modify" permission
7. go to web directory
8. select one folder
9. click on permission icon
10. "green error message box: you can not change the permission of this folder"

You will get that error if you attempt to do that on any of the system provided folders, such as cgi-bin, jakarta, site, sitepreview becuase those are not under the httpdocs folder.

You can only modify permissions on things underneath the httpdocs folder so those folders which are not can not be modified in this way.

I was modifying the permission under the folder httpdocs
I found a trick to fix that today by checking off "additional write/modify" permission and reset ftp password on that account. It looks like without "additional write/modify" permission is permitted, any changes on the permission of the folder is not going to work right.

using the repro steps you provided I can not repro the problem on a folder that is under httpdocs, I can only repro it using one of the system provided folders.

Could yuo also let us konw what "not working right" means, and what the permissions look like in a non working scenario and how that differs from a working setup?
