What are the roles of psaserv, psacln and their directory permissions

What are the roles of psaserv and psacln?

I realised that Plesk does not set the group of an accounts folders to that of the account, and they sometimes switch between psaserv and psacln. What do these accounts do and what are their rights?

Why are the rights and permissions setup that way?

Is there a way to customize the way they are setup?

Does an answer exist?
I have been searching all over the place and I can't find an answer.
Plesk certainly does make a mess out of permissions.

This is an old thread, but it is at the top of Google results so I'll answer. The psaserv group is for server-side files and directories that should not be sent to clients (website visitors), such as files outside httpdocs. The psacln group is for files and directories which are to be sent to the clients, such as index.html.
