Where are mail messages stored?

I know that sounds like a very basic question, but this is driving me crazy.

I have a client with malformed mail message that is locking up the pop and Horde inboxes. I need to get into that box through the shell and kill that one message.

Any ideas?

After much hair pulling I found them. This new blank spam thing is turning into a problem.

I recommend using qmHandle or qmqtool instead of diving into qmail's directories yourself.
