Question Why are my outgoing E-Mails still marked as Spam on some Sites?

Nico4163

New Pleskian
Hello Plesk Users,
i have an Problem, all outgoing E-Mails are marked as Spam on Sites like gmail, yahoo. But i dont know why.

I am dependent on the mails being sent.

Lets post some facts.

Plesk & the Mail Server, both have an SSL Certificate (Both have the same)
The Mailserver IP is 5.199.133.131, and i can't find it on any Blacklist. (I also tried a different IP)

There are Mail-Test Sites on the internet like "mail-tester.com" or "isnotspam.com"
On both Sites, i reach the full score, Because everything is working. My SPF, my dkim record, dmarc record, reverse DNS etc.

The E-Mails are going to Spam, no matter what [email protected] E-Mail i use & no matter what the Content is. I tried a simple Handwritten E-Mail, but also my standard HTML E-Mail. Both are going to Spam on Gmail & Yahoo.

I am using Plesk Onyx 17.5 on Cent OS 7.

If you need any more Detail, or Logs or something, please let me know & please let me know, where i can find these Logs.

-Nico

Hi Nico4163,

if you experience issues with eMails to GMail, yahoo, hotmail, or any other mail - provider, pls. include as well your eMail - header for further investigations - they mostly point directly to ( possible ) issues, why an eMail is declared as spam.

Often enough, the IP reputation is as well an indicator for mail - providers, how they handle eMails.

In addition, pls. note, that each of these providers have as well a support, where you are able to ask directly, WHY such an issue may appear. They even provide FAQ's for it: ( Example for GMail: => Mark or unmark Spam in Gmail - iPhone & iPad - Gmail Help ). ;)

Thank you for your Reply, i tried this spf, but still the Same result.
rDNS is correct. My Mailserver / Plesk are running on "web.vanityhosting.de", and the rDNS Record for my IP is web.vanityhosting.de.

As i said, "Mail Testers" like mail-tester.com & isnotspam.com are giving me 10/10 points..

I couldn't find my Domain Name Blacklisted (Its also a relatively new registered Domain), but i also tried another Domain, both the same result.

Thanks, i think i will contact Google & Yahoo with my Issue, i hope they can tell me exactly why my Mails are marked as Spam

Try "View Source" in Gmail and Yahoo.

It will show you if any if the verifications fails according to their systems.

Specially Gmail will show you which Pass and Fails.

In Plesk Mail Server Settings use the specific IP setting and use your above IP.

Also if you are currently sending email using webmail. Try a mail client like Outlook.

Good Luck!

But Yahoo & Google, both show me, that everything is passed.
(on Yahoo, everything except one thing:)
domainkeys=neutral (no sig);

How can i change this?

Plesk is no longer using domainkeys. so the result is all good.

I'm not sure about (localhost [IPv6:::1]), should it be ((localhost [127.0.0.1]) since you are using IPv4 in every where else in this email?

There shouldn't be anything with IPv6, the Server, where plesk is running doesn't have any IPV6 Adresses..

Could this problem have arisen because of my /etc/hosts?
Code:
# 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4

::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

5.199.133.131 web.vanityhosting.de web

127.0.0.1 localhost

Should i delete the ::1 Line?

So you are not using any IPv6?

Please try to send an email using a mail client like Outlook.

If you have a different gmail address send it there this time

I have send an E-Mail now with "Thunderbird" And there isnt anything with ipv6 now, but its still in Spam. (I created another Gmail & Yahoo E-Mail)

Sorry Im not sure that is the Issue is.

Everything looks ok to me

But thank you very much for your time & help!

I hope i find a solution for my Problem. Maybe the reason is really, that my IP & my Domain are new, so they doesn't have any reputation.

Anyway, i contacted Yahoo & Google and waiting for there answer.

I have setup brand new server and domain which didn't have any reputation. I haven't had any issue, specially with GMail.

Please update this thread when you find what was the issue.

Hi Nico4163,

I just noticed:
(I also tried 2 different Domains, which i registered today)
Then the issue is totally normal and nothing to worry about, because in about 5 days, this issue should disappear like a ghost! ;)

It is a well-known fact that Hotmail, GMail, Outlook and several others mark "new registered domains" and their corresponding IPs as spam for the first couple of days after your initial domain registration. You might find it usefull to search for articles, or forum - threads with Google for example. Even if you setup all as recommended and suggested, you will still experience this behaviour by some Free-Mail - providers and as I already wrote, this will mostly disappear ( if eMails from these new domains are not marked as Spam from users receiving the eMails ). Pls. check back in 4-5 days from now to get some additional suggestions for possible additional ways to ask for whitelisting at the mentioned providers. ;)

@Nico4163 do you think your IP have been heavily spamming before? It might not be blacklisted public lists but in thier systems they maintain their own blacklists.

As I remember you can get IP reputation data in gmail and hotmail system. Can you send an email to hotmail at all without been rejected?

Is it possible to change your mail server IP? Do you have another IP in your server? But you will have to set the rDNS to your hostname.

I dont believe in new Domain goes to Spam theory or it has not happened to me yet!

So, i created a Hotmail Account and send an Email to it. It couldn't be send and i got the following "Email back"

SC-001 (SNT004-MC10F6) Unfortunately, messages from 5.199.133.131 weren't
sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their
network is on our block list. You can also refer your provider to
Troubleshooting. (in reply to MAIL
FROM command)

And i think, this means, my IP is blacklisted on the most Mail Services.

I can add some different IPs to my Server where Plesk is running, but how do i change the Mailserver IP Address?
