Wordpress error on linux only

When in wordrpess under Install plug-ins I get an error:

Install Plugins
Start Page | Featured | Popular | Newest | Recently Updated

An Unexpected HTTP Error occured during the API request.

Try again

I only get this error on our linux plesk 9.01 servers, It is working under our Windows plesk 9.01 servers.

Any Help would be great!!!
