Hi Pleskians,

I'm facing issue cloning a WordPress Multi-Site. When I try to clone the WordPress MultiSite, it throws the issue of Permission denied.
Upon running the plesk fs repair, there were no errors.

Any insight/help would be great!

Just a "permission denied" doesn't help. You need to dig through the log files. Please review the log files and provide more details. You can find the log files details at https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/...r-Linux-services-logs-and-configuration-files

As per the error, its saying the same thing.

Nowhere in the WPToolkit Doc its mentioned this restriction.

According to the log, the issue is with your second 5th site trying to go to the same domain:

Is where you're trying to clone to have an existing instance? If so I think what you're trying to do is copy the data instead of cloning.

btw if you're trying to do a clone from, say: wpsite.com to wpsite.com/staging, that's not supported. You could clone to a sub domain or to a whole different domain with the /staging, but you can't clone from wpsite.com to wpsite/staging (or whatever)

As I mentioned earlier, this is a Multisite WP install, and if you observe the snapshot carefully, there was no option of cloning it to any subdomain.

Multisite WP only supports clone to either another domain or a sub-folder.
Hence I choose sub-folder.

And if the multi-site is giving the error on cloning to sub-folder of the same site, then either its code bug and this option should even be there, or they haven't yet figured out how to clone correctly a MultiSite WP Install.

I've enabled multisite, created an extra site to the multisite and was able to clone to a sub domain just fine. I don't know how you're doing it but cloning works fine for me.

And during my tests everything copied over fine.

Mind you this multisite was configured to use a subdomain for the multisite instead of a subdomain. I currently do not have a free completely blank domain to test the sub domain part but I can presume it's the same. I guess I could always test it with a sub sub domain but the cloning will and does work with multisite wordpress instances.

OK, so doing a test using the sub domain for the multisite set up, it's simply not possible to clone to a directory. You MUST use another domain. And honestly it makes sense in this specific case if you are using sub domains for the multisite (what I mean is if you're using something like site1.wpmulti.site, site2.wpmulti.site, etc., instead of wpmulti.site/site1 and wpmulti.site/site2). Because the sub domain requires the use of a wild card in the DNS and also requires you to create a sub domain in plesk using the wild card, trying to clone to a directory within the domain is simply not possible, it will causes conflicts. So because of that, you will need to use another domain. There is simply no way around it if you're using the subdomain multisite.

I think what you need is the plugin called NS Cloner Pro. The lite version of NS cloner is in the WP repository, but I am not entire sure it does everything you are looking for but try it first.
There are also other Multisite cloning plugins available, just Google it
