Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.
Here is it in a nutshell. I am trying to set up a domain through Plesk that hosts the site and has an email server to it. At some point there will be a couple of sites there. We have a couple of companies we want to put up and I thought this would be best. We also want to control our own email server. Actually that was the reason I went with this setup.
I am going through netsol.com for my VPS, they give me 50 emails with the VPS that go through thier shared mail server. I was able to getthat going but Ideally I want it on its own server through plesk.
The domain is rmletc.com. This is just a test as Iwant to set this up properly before i migrate our main site to it.
I went into plesk and added rmletc.com to it. I also pointed godaddy.com to the namesserver that netsol assigned to it.
I would ideally like to use my server as a name server so that I can host many sites on it.
I am told that is the way to go if you want that capability.
I don't know if this is correct and if so then in godaddy or elswere how to assign my dns server as the nameserver or is that incorrect?
So How then do I go into plesk, creat a domain upload pages to it and creat an email server? And then do this for several that are all ours. I don't need the funtionality to offer others access to it as I wont be a shared hosting company.
I turned the DNS on for the domaiin itself and it gave me all the the proper mail.rmletc.com info I thought.
How do I get us to go to the domain I created in Plesk via a browser?
I guess I am wondering if there is listed a series of steps......
if you would like access I can give it to you as i can always change the passwords.....
