I'm not sure what the CLI FTP options have to do with the error I was experiencing.

But the errors have stopped now.

I use Plesk 9.3 and the issue persists even after replacing psarepository.dll and increasing the timeout value in the registry. Can anyone help?

I gave up on the Plesk backup system, I get a dozen errors every night and I've never had the patience to go through the rigormorole of performing a restore anyway.

I use R1Soft's CDP backup system http://www.r1soft.com/

Life's too short to try and make Plesk work.

Have been experiencing the exact problem outline in the article, however we just upgraded to 9.5. Is this fix the same for that version?
