• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Backup manager fails to connect to FTP

Backups stopped on August 4th some update to backup manager took it out.

Despite I can connect over shell, plesk insists the ftp cant be reached.

Note the actual directory response below the error message...

Error: FTP connection failed, please check your FTP settings.
drwxr-xr-x 2 backup backup 4096 Aug 11 13:57 .
drwxrwxrwx 4 backup backup 4096 Aug 11 13:57 ..

I also log in where the FTP is and I see all these check0, check1 which is plesk putting in a file to check.

It obviously has been changed and does not like my FTP servers response. Can this be fixed...

Seems the only FTP I can use is the server itself, that's pointless...

So as a workaround I am backing up locally, then FTP the .tar to the backup myself.

Here is the log responses...

ExecuteException: Subprocess <subprocess[2378] '/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/pmm-ras --check-repository --dump-storage=ftp://[email protected]/BACKUP/'> was finished with exit code -6
== STDOUT ====================
drwxr-xr-x 2 backup backup 4096 Aug 11 14:23 .
drwxrwxrwx 3 backup backup 4096 Aug 11 14:23 ..

Its stupid as the backups show in the personal ftp tab, I can delete them.

The script is too specific looking for some response.
