TITLE

Can't remove email address from User Account Contact

PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Plesk Obsidian 18.0.34, CloudLinux 7.9

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

When a user account has had an Email address defined previously, it can't be removed and/or replaced with an External email address.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Even if the Email address field is kept blank and only the External email address is filled in, the original Email address is still remembered and showing on the screen :8443/smb/user/overview/id/0000 - but the Email address is not visible on :8443/smb/user/edit/id/0000. If the External email address is also deleted so that both email address and external email address are blank, after saving User Account - then original old email address will be automatically added into the External email address field.

See images for more context:

ACTUAL RESULT

Can't remove original email address.

EXPECTED RESULT

Should be able to remove email address and only have external email address.

Help with sorting out

Maybe a misunderstanding? The "external" address is not there to replace the mailbox name. It is an additional address where password reset mails can be sent to. If you want to remove a mailbox, you can do so on the mailbox list screen. It is not possible to create a mailbox but leaving the part left of the @ character empty.

From developer:

I confirm that the described behaviour might be confusing, so I have created an internal issue with id PPP-52509 (PPPM-12849).
