Can't upload file 'BACKUPFILENAME.xml' to ftp. Error code: 1

Xavier12

Regular Pleskian
Hey guys,

Getting an error when my personal ftp server is setup correctly. Here is the error:

Can't upload file 'BACKUPFILENAME.xml' to ftp. Error code: 1

This happens when either a schedule ftp backup or manual ftp backup is initiated.

Please advise, thanks.

Hi Abdi,

Thanks for the support. Yes, I have twice as much of space for the backup and its still somehow sending back the error mentioned.

Please advise, thanks.

Hello Xavier,
Just to rule out the problem being the FTP server, try ftp-ing it and uploading a file or 2 to it right from your server, using the #ftp command.

Could you please show more related details of this error from /usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/<backup_date_here>/migration.result log file?

Today registration migration.result

I have two identical machines:

- I make one local backup and does not give any errors.
- Other machine's external ftp backup and gives two errors: can not upload xml file and watchdog: The Web Server (Apache) and (Ngnix) service on host is down, every day at the same time.

I can only recommend to create a request to support team to do in-depth investigation to find the reason and to fix it. Please create a ticket to support at https://odin.com/hcap/support/request/ .
You may have free support, please check what kind of Plesk license you use for available support options at http://kb.odin.com/en/121580 .
If there’s no free support in your case, you can order Plesk per-incident support at http://odin.com/hcap/support/buy-support/. Support team will contact you as soon as purchase is processed, and they will do the best to resolve it.
If it is found that your problem was caused by product bug w/o available solution or workaround from Parallels, then your purchase will be re-funded.

Hi

same error on my server (OS CentOS 6.5 (Final), Plesk version 12.0.18 Update #55):

ERROR: () Can't upload file 'backup_info_1507190011.xml' to ftp. Error code: 1

backup has been copied to ftp, but file on server is larger than on ftp (perhaps because it is .tar?) and it has different name...
Please check screen prints:

Hi,
i'm having the same error on my server for three weeks. Before my backup task was working ok, but now it uploads the file to the remote ftp server with different size, and gives me the Error code: 1. I've to clean manually my /var/lib/psa/dumps folder, because it fills my server....

Any help??

Thanks a lot!!
