Database error

Hi,
I have a client that is currently trying to utilize her database that I have recently setup for her.
When she attempts to conenct using her app it does not allow her access.
What port should she be using...3306?
Also, what would the host name be, the domain i setup for her, or the primary domain she logs in with for ftp etc..
